Daydream Believer

Total Render time: 79 hours, 32 minutes... YIKES. I thought it would NEVER finish! LOL. This is what I get for adding translucency to the shroom-dude, and displacement on the terrain.

My Lord Knight

My Lord Knight comes to me under veil of darkness; he emerges with a whisper of sound and a glint of moonlight on his aging armor. He enfolds me in his powerful arms.... and I fly free of my earthly bonds.

Awakenings

In an old abandoned village, there is a corner that only receives the light of the sun for an hour, twice a year. In this dark, neglected area, there is a statue of a young lady who once dared to smack a God and thus angered the entire Pantheon.

It is rumored that when the sun's light strikes the statue, the young lady awakens and emerges from her marble cocoon, only to return once more to the cold, lonely stone when the light fades...

The Sea Spirit

Postwork to add in the splashes.

Materials on the sea and the ground are by me. I found a new level in the ocean/water editor yesterday... and WOW.

I also added translucence to the water... made a difference at the crest of the waves, really.

The atmosphere is the only "material" i didnt either tweak (in the case of the skin, hair & outfit of the fairy & the metawaters - used the channel water one and changed it completely, but the only way to get it rto recognize "foam" - at least that _I_ know so far), or created from scratch (terrain & rocks). I think its a freebie I picked up somewhere, but looks way cool.

Render time: 18 hours, 59 minutes exactly.

Anyways, enjoy.

Benten & Tsuta by yamato (combined them, and mixed several metals & used the bark materials).
Hair is from daz. Aiko 3 from daz. Aiko's skin is by CSDesigns.

Weeds

I made the plant in Vue... and used the most distinctive leaves I could find that were already in Alpha format. (i.e., a texture map, and a transparency map to eliminate the stuff that isn't leaf). I'm still having problems with the hooking point of the leaves, but once I get it all figured out, mother nature beware... I intend to scan in a lot of Alaska's great plant life (either this summer or next) and convert them to that alpha format....

enjoy!

The Renewal

"I have sought love all my life - beyond the mountains and under the seas; in the deepest darkest jungles and within the heart of earth. I have looked for my love through all of time and space... with blind eyes. I almost didn't recognize that what I have been longing for has been in front of me the entire time. My darling... I love you. Will you spend the rest of eternity with me?"

Photoshop class: Fun with Filters & Tips

10 tips for new photoshop users:

1) Breathe and relax... what has been Done can be Edit-Undo(ne)

2) save. save often. i cant stress this one enough. Go ahead, spend 5 hours on something cool and have the power go out before you save. see how hard you cry then. oh wait - that was ME ;) ..........SAVE........ it's worth it.

3) go ahead, rearrange your windows and stuff - you can always restore them to what they were... and you may find that different layouts work better for different style projects.

4) Experiment. Play with filters, actions, styles, patterns, gradients! Won't know what all they can do if you don't play.

5) There's more to this than meets the eye... A lot of tools are hidden under other tools. keep in mind you may have to hunt for them... not to mention the plethora of shortcuts!

6) don't give up. even Michelangelo had to learn how to draw a circle. and he didn't have a handy elliptical marquee tool w/ stroke to help!

7) layer styles can be your friend.

8) it is better to edit non-destructively whenever possible.

9) you can heal all manner of ills... between the healing tools & the clone stamp tool

10) most tools are very customizable - find the pallet/window for them and see what you can do!

Injection Pose Builder Mini Tutorial

Hi,

After seeing people struggle with V4 and Injection Pose Builder, not to mention having to re-teach myself every time I open the program... I decided to write what I call a mini-tutorial to show how _I_ handle V4 and IPB.

Your miles may vary.

First off, make sure that in poser, your "Use External Binary Morph Targets" is UNCHECKED. This wrecks havoc with Victoria 4 and should be off anyway. Victoria 3 and Aiko 3 and the others really don't seem to mind, so go ahead.... get wild!

Anyways... once you have tweaked your character to your heart's content, save her in your figures library where you can find her easily, and name her something you'll remember. Like "MySillyElf" =D

open up Injection Pose Builder

Step 1) The readScript Specific spot - this is the one of two very important settings - make sure you Exclude Entirely!!!!!

Step 2) Chose Inj & Rem or one or the other. If you are doing this for sale... might I recommend both?....

Step 3) Click on Victoria 3 (this is the other very important setting) Wait for her to "parse" (window/step 5)

Step 4) Click on Source File and navigate to your morphed figure.

Step 5) Wait and watch this window. This takes a bit of time depending on how many morphs you had loaded in her to begin with - even the ones you didn't use.

Step 6) When it finishes, click on "Process Options" - if it asks you if you want to save the pose at any time, you can say no - it won't affect it. Watch window/step 5.

Step 7) This window will magically fill up with information. Check it out, make sure its what you want...

Step 8) Save As... This is self-explanatory. i hope. Anyways, save it - if you ticked both inj & rem like I did, then you'll get a few prompts.

Using these settings greatly speeds up this process and eliminates unneeded/useless data from the files. You may want to go back through them manually (using your favorite text editor) and remove anything else you feel irrelevant (IPB adds a few lines of text to the files), making sure not to change the spacing/order.

Once again, your miles may vary, and I hope this helps... if not, then ignore it. =D
